Muutama uusi kuva remontin jatkumisesta - A few new pictures of the renovation

Uusia kuvia ja kertomuksia tulossa jälleen, pitkän tauon jälkeen.
Pihaa on siistitty monen kuormallisen verran kaatopaikalle. Keittiötä ollaan juuri kunnostamassa. Keittiön lattiasta revittiin pois muovimatto ja kovalevyjä, jotta saatiin vanha lautalattia esille. Se olikin niin kulunut, että suurilta osin maali oli kulunut täysin pois. Uutta maalia siis pintaan, nyt on vedetty 2 kerrosta perinteikästä vaaleanharmaata.
Kuvassa toinen kerros puoliksi maalattuna - näkee hyvin, kuinka runsaasti kuluneet laudat ovat imeneet 1. maalikerroksesta! Näkyvissä myös vanha tapetti.

Käytössä on Sateenkaarivärien Vanhanajan Lakkaöljymaali, jota olemme käyttäneet yläkerrassakin makuuhuoneiussa. Pakko kehua, on kyllä ollut riittoisa ja pinnaltaan kestävä maali. Käyttö/kestokokemusta on nyt 2 vuoden verran ja vaikka iso koira pyörii kynsineen siellä jatkuvasti, ei lattiassa näy mitään jälkeä. Ei edes sen jäljiltä, että kaikkien sääntöjen vastaisesti raahailin isoja huonekaluja pitkin lattiaa..

New pictures and stories again after a long break.

The yard has been cleared up for several trailer loads that we took to the local dumping ground. Right now we're fixing and renovating the kitchen. We ripped out the old plastic flooring and wood fiber boards to reveal the old wooden floor again. The hidden wooden floor was actually so time-worn that the paint was completely worn off to bare wood in most parts. So, we slapped on new paint, just finished the 2nd coating yesterday.  The new color is a traditional light gray. (See half-finished pictures above, where the 2nd coat is halfway done - you can see how much the worn planks have absorbed the first coat! You can also see the old wall-paper.)

We used the 'Old-time varnish' (oil-laquer based) by Sateenkaarivärit which we have used previously also on the bedroom floors upstairs. I cannot praise this paint enough; it's economical and the finish is durable.

'Til this day, we have experience of its usage/duration on the wooden floor for 2 years, and even though we have a big dog running about all the time, the floor shows no marks of wear and tear. Not even after I, against all norms, have dragged heavy furniture around across that floor...
