Vanha hirsiseinä näkyvissä telineiden takaa - The old log wall visible behind the scaffolding
Paljaat ja maalatut laudat (piti alkaa rakennustelineiden alta, siksi outo maalausjärjestys..) - Bare and painted planks (had to start below the scaffolding, hence the weird painting order...)
Arvatkaapa, minkä värisiä katon reunalaudat ja ikkunankarmit ovat...? Avulias, alun perin musta, avustaja avusti minua maalauksessa.
Guess what color the roof skirt boards and window frames are...? An eager, originally black, helper was helping me paint.

Photos of the painting project of the external cladding: first I painted the facade with Sateenkaarivärit's 'Old-time petroleum oil paint', the shade is called 'Bearnaise'. The color is a slightly brighter yellow than the old shade of the house.
I started the painting from the facade side because we had to tear down the front porch portion almost completely because it was badly run-down and rotten. Similarly the roof that had leaked for decades had ruined the facade cladding (and in the inner corners also the log frame, 4 to 5 logs for about one meter), which was mainly so brash that I could tear the planks into pieces with my own two hands. Many of the planks practically scattered in my hands and could not be saved. The wood cladding on the other sides of the house is in better shape, so there we'll just scrape the loose paint off and slap on new one.
On the facade side where the porch also lies, we also added battens for a proper air ventilation gap, which did not exist on these walls before. The facade had only had a tar paper attached directly onto the logs and then the external cladding directly onto that, as was a common custom at the time the house was built.
